Certificate Overview

Experience API, or xAPI, is a specification for learning technology that allows you to capture a broader view of learning experiences. Articulate Storyline 360 with xAPI opens new possibilities to collect data about how learners interact with any content type or specific objects in your elearning courses. With xAPI, you can collect data about anything such as the name of the person who viewed a video, how much time that person spent on a slide, how many specific object types were interacted with, and more. The ability to track and collect more detailed data allows you to customize and personalize your elearning courses. The opportunities are limitless! You will build small activities during this certificate to gain hands-on practice applying your new skills.

Course Details

During this certificate, Kevin will guide you, step-by-step, through the process of using Articulate Storyline 360 to capture data with xAPI statements for elearning effectively. Session activities will be integrated into each one-hour segment – teach/demos for 40-45 minutes with 10-15 minutes to work on your activity. This approach will allow you to practice the concepts taught in that previous segment while they are still fresh in your mind. You will build small activities to gain hands-on practice applying your new skills.

  • A basic understanding of computing concepts (how to zip and unzip files, cutting/pasting, etc.) is required. A basic understanding of elearning is helpful.

Technical Needs:

Participants with either Storyline 3 or Storyline 360 can attend. All demonstrations are shown in Storyline 360.
Important: If you do not have a licensed copy of Articulate Storyline, you must download a complimentary trial version prior to the start of the course no sooner than 1-2 days before the class so that the trial does not expire prior to completing the course and related homework assignments.
