Prerequisites:
This program is designed for professionals with foundational AI experience. You should have used generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini) and understand basic concepts like prompting and AI strengths/limitations, including the ability to:
- Navigate multiple browser tabs and web-based platforms simultaneously
- Copy/paste text, upload/download files, and manage basic file structures
- Join virtual sessions with audio/video/screen share capabilities
- Follow multi-step technical instructions
NOTE: Our Mastering Generative AI and Building AI Agents certificates are complementary. If you have already completed our Mastering Generative AI certificate, this new Building AI Agents Certificate gives you the opportunity to expand your learning and practical expertise, building on the final lesson in the Mastering Generative AI certificate to advance more advanced uses of Agentic AI.
Depending on your knowledge and experience, it is not necessary to complete the Mastering Generative AI certificate prior to attending the Building AI Agents certificate.

Technical Needs:
Required:
- Computer with reliable internet connection (modern web browser: Chrome, Firefox, or Safari recommended)
- Access to at least ONE of the following AI platforms before Session 1:
- ChatGPT Plus or Team (for building GPTs) — Recommended for beginners
- Microsoft Copilot Studio (if your organization has licensing)
- Claude Projects (Anthropic)
- Google Gemini with Extensions
Important Security Note: Confirm with your IT/Security team that your chosen platform is approved. All exercises use non-confidential, non-proprietary sample data that we provide.
Highly Recommended (but not mandatory):

- N8N (open source option)
These tools are demonstrated in Sessions 2-4. Having access allows you to build automated workflows live, but it's not required to earn the certificate. Demonstrations and templates are provided.

The following platforms will be demonstrated. Access is helpful but optional:
- Additional agent builders: Anthropic Claude with Projects, Google Gemini, MindStudio, Agent.ai
- Knowledge base connectors: Notion API, Google Drive API, SharePoint connectors
- LMS integration examples: API connections to common LMS platforms
- If your organization already licenses any of these tools, log in during labs so you can build in your actual work environment.

Course Equipment
IMPORTANT - You'll participate in online and collaborative activities in a number of ways, each designed to provide a unique means to interact and learn from experts and colleagues. All course delivery software operates at Internet connection speeds of 56.6 kbps or better, on PC, Mac and Unix platforms. Courses will use teleconferencing or VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol.) The login instructions emailed to you approximately one week prior to the start of the course will outline platform use as well as any headset requirements or suggestions. Each registrant must provide their own laptop or desktop computer and other equipment (such as a headset, if noted in your login instructions) in order to fully and successfully participate in the course. Please test your login information a minimum of 48 hours in advance on your course start date on the computer you will be using for the course.
