Technical Requirements
You will need download a free trial of Zapworks Designer for AR creation. Important:  Your trial period for this software is 14 days. We recommend you install the trial version no more than 24 hours prior to the start of the first session.

Sessions

Session 1:     Gamification Foundations for Onboarding

Explore core gamification principles and how they apply to onboarding, including essential elements like points, levels, and feedback loops to engage learners.

  • Activities: Gamified brainstorming; designing basic game elements.

  • Outcome: Draft a game-based storyboard to map out the new hire journey.

Session 2:     Building Immersive, Real-World Scenarios with Augmented Reality

Learn how to integrate AR to simulate real-life tasks and provide hands-on practice for new hires without risk.

  • Activities: Demo of AR tools for onboarding; guided setup of a sample AR scenario.

  • Outcome: Create a basic AR scenario plan tailored to onboarding tasks in your industry.

Session 3:     Collaborative Design and Prototyping

Teams will collaboratively design an onboarding prototype, integrating gamification and AR to create a comprehensive new hire journey.

  • Activities: Group prototyping, feedback sessions, and iterative testing.

  • Outcome: Finalize and test a prototype onboarding module with peer feedback.

Session 4:     Measuring Success and Scaling for Impact

Discover methods to assess the onboarding module’s effectiveness and plan for scalability.

  • Activities: Defining KPIs, creating a measurement plan, and exploring how to refine and scale the program.

  • Outcome: Develop an onboarding success measurement framework to track ROI and program impact.

IMPORTANT - You'll participate in online and collaborative activities in a number of ways, each designed to provide a unique means to interact and learn from experts and colleagues. All course delivery software operates at Internet connection speeds of 56.6 kbps or better, on PC, Mac and Unix platforms. Programs will use teleconferencing or VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol.) The login instructions emailed to you approximately one week prior to the start of the course will outline platform use as well as any headset requirements or suggestions.
