Course Details

During this certificate course, your instructor will guide you, step-by-step, through the process of using Articulate Storyline to build effective and appealing elearning. Session practice will be integrated into each one hour segment – teach/demos for 40-45 minutes with 10-15 minutes to practice. This approach will allow you to practice the concepts taught in that previous segment while they are still fresh in your mind. At the end of a session (3 hours), additional practice files allow you to hone your skills between sessions.

Prerequisites:
A basic understanding of computing concepts (zipping/unzipping files, cutting/pasting, etc.) is required.  A basic understanding of elearning is helpful. Each of the Articulate Storyline certificate courses is designed to stand alone with no prerequisite. However, we recommend that you complete our Articulate Storyline Fundamentals Certificate course before advancing to the  Articulate Storyline Certificate: Next Level 1 and Articulate Storyline Certificate Next Level 2 courses.

Who Should Attend:
This certificate course is for non-programmers who wish to learn basic to intermediate authoring features of Articulate Storyline. Managers may also benefit from seeing the creation and development process so they may more accurately estimate course development time and cost.

Technical Requirements

Participants with either Storyline 3 or Storyline 360 can attend. All demonstrations are shown in Storyline 360.

Important: If you do not have a licensed copy of Articulate Storyline, you must download a complimentary trial version prior to the start of the course no sooner than 1-2 days before the class so that the trial does not expire prior to completing the course and related homework assignments. For a trial version, go to Articulate Storyline

Your trial period for this software is 30 days from the time you install. Therefore, we recommend that you install the trial version no more than one or two days prior to the first session. This allows you a few weeks to practice after the last session. Articulate Storyline software FAQs (including tech specs).

All versions of Articulate Storyline are independent of each other and all can be installed on the same computer. While the current version can support previous versions of software, they are not backward compatible. Each new version of Articulate Storyline has new features.

MAC Users: Articulate Storyline is only a Windows-based program. Currently, there is no version specifically for a Mac. However, you can run Storyline on a Mac. For Intel-based Macs you can run Storyline with Parallels, VMware Fusion, or Boot Camp. For M-series Macs (M1 or M2), you can only use Parallels with Windows 11 Arm.

Microsoft no longer provides support for Windows 10 Arm. As a result, Windows 10 is no longer supported in Parallels Desktop on Mac computers with Apple M-series chips. However, Windows 11 should be fully compatible with all applications that Windows 10 is compatible with.
