Course Details

During this certificate course Kevin will guide you, step-by-step, through the process of using Articulate Storyline to build effective and appealing elearning. Session practice will be integrated into each one hour segment – teach/demos for 40-45 minutes with 10-15 minutes to practice. This approach will allow you to practice the concepts taught in that previous segment while still fresh on your mind. At the end of a session (3 hours), additional practice files will be distributed for continued self-paced practice between sessions.

This certificate course is for those who are moderately experienced using Storyline to develop elearning. A solid understanding of elearning and of Storyline’s features and functions is required. A basic understanding of computing concepts ( how to zip and unzip files, etc.) is also required. We recommend that you complete our Articulate Storyline Fundamentals Certificate course prior to registering for this course. If you completed our Articulate Storyline for Next Level Design certificate through 2023, then you are ready for the Articulate Storyline: Certificate Next Level 2 course where you will delve into more advanced Articulate Storyline skills including complex combinations of interactive experiences, thinking through logic and game-level thinking.

Who Should Attend:
This certificate is for those who are familiar with the basic features of Storyline such as story view, scenes, slides, layers, triggers, the timeline, importing assets, and creating simple quizzes and interactions.

Technical Requirements

Participants with either Storyline 3 or Storyline 360 can attend. All demonstrations are shown in Storyline 360.

If you do not have a licensed copy of Articulate Storyline, you must download a complimentary trial version prior to the start of the course no sooner than 1-2 days before the class so that the trial does not expire prior to completing the course and related homework assignments. For a trial version, go to Articulate Storyline.

Your trial period for this software is 30 days from the time you install. Therefore, we recommend that you install the trial version no more than one or two days prior to the first session. This allows you a few weeks to practice after the last session. Articulate Storyline software FAQs (including tech specs).

All versions of Articulate Storyline are independent of each other and all can be installed on the same computer. While the current version can support previous versions of software, they are not backward compatible. Each new version of Articulate Storyline has new features.

MAC Users: Articulate Storyline is only a Windows-based program. Currently, there is no version specifically for a Mac. However, you can run Storyline on a Mac. For Intel-based Macs you can run Storyline with Parallels, VMware Fusion, or Boot Camp. For M-series Macs (M1 or M2), you can only use Parallels with Windows 11 Arm.

Microsoft no longer provides support for Windows 10 Arm. As a result, Windows 10 is no longer supported in Parallels Desktop on Mac computers with Apple M-series chips. However, Windows 11 should be fully compatible with all applications that Windows 10 is compatible with.
