***NEW***
Added sessions on Constructing High-Rich Aesthetics and Highly Interactive Reusable Flash Engines based on Ray Jimenez’s Special Report on "Accessorizing e-Learning with Rich & Interactive Reusable Flash"
"Advanced E-learning Design Certificate" - brought to you Live & Online!

The first wave of e-learning programs is mostly designed as boring page turning, online book-like lessons. It is drudgery and agonizing to study. Companies are also complaining of the high cost and slow delivery. Although e-learning has now been accepted as a viable solution to training, advanced skills, tools, methods and thinking are required to push performance of e-learning beyond the traditional design into flexible, fast, and reusable and must seamlessly inter-operate with other learning methods. In this Certificate Program you will learn how to apply new research findings and best practices that have proven to improve the performance of e-learning as an effective medium. You will also learn how to apply rapid development, low cost methods, and development of immersive e-learning methods.
|
This is an intensive workshop. We will meet 6 times over a period of 2 weeks. Each meeting will last 4 hours. Each session is divided into discussions and presentations, work projects, activities, self-directed hands-on applications. Homework and assignments are minimal.
|

Approximate topic coverage in each session. The topics may change depending on the profile and needs of the group.
Day 1
Respond to new learner demands – learn how to analyze, plan and design e-learning that meets new demands of the rapidly training learners in constantly changing work situations and increasing volume of knowledge and skills.
Appeal to new generation and silver generation learners – apply in your design, recent findings on how to design e-learning that appeals to different generations of learners.
Push e-learning to new learning modalities and technologies – learn how to design your e-learning program so that it is flexible to be a bridge for informal learning, social networking, mobile learning, collaborative learning, and rapid e-learning software.
- Analyzing new trends and practices in e-Learning strategies and implementation.
- Previewing and assessing the trends in highly interactive games, simulation, scenario-based. learning, mobile learning, social networking, 3D learning, and others.
- Determining impacts and payoffs of the new trends.
- Strategizing on what and how to improve, innovate or replace traditional e-Learning designs with advance approaches in e-Learning design.
- Examining levels of advance e-Learning Design and selecting a mini-project.
- Organic design
- Rote learning
- Knowledge mapping
- Technical simulation
- Problem-solving and decision making
- Behavioral learning with Behavioral learning with storytelling
- 3D-Learning
- Social and collaborative learning
- Performance support system
- Mobile learning
- Performance metric
Day 2
Create highly relevant learning experiences – learn to use the narrative, stories, anecdotes, metaphors, cases, and scenarios to help the learners effectively apply lessons into real-life situations.
Engage learners with interactivity, simulation and immersive designs – learn to design numerous types of interactivity, games and simulation to immerse the learners with the learning and shorten the learning curve and improve skills acquisition.
- Applying decision making checklist to know what design to use to match business needs and learner profile and other criteria
- Applying building blocks of interactivity
- Story telling
- Cognitive load
- Discovery process
- Interactions with content
- 'Interactions with people
- Theories and application in mini-projects using the following interactive design:
- Organic design
- Rote learning
- Knowledge mapping
- Technical simulation
Day 3
- Theories and application in mini-projects using the following interactive design:
- Problem-solving and decision making
- Behavioral learning with scenarios
- 3D-Learning
Day 4
- Theories and application in mini-projects using the following interactive design:
- Social and collaborative learning
- Performance support system
- Mobile learning
- Performance metrics
- Blending formal and informal learning with Wikis, Podcasts, Blogs, SecondLife, Twitter, RSS, and Social Bookmarking.
Day 5
- Building rich, interactive and reusable Flash engines
- Structure of reusable Flash engines
- Building reusable Flash engines
- Extending reusable Flash engines to social learning
Day 6
Construct rapid, flexible and reusable e-Learning – learn how to develop and adapt your e-learning programs to make it highly reusable and flexible so learners can learn on the job and in informal and formal learning environments and are encouraged to reuse and restudy the programs as references.
Easy tools for almost everyone developing e-learning – see how easy content development tools make it now possible for "non-techies" or someone without software experience can develop effective, well designed, fast and lesser cost e-learning programs.
- Advance design using reusable Flash engines
- Advance design using LMS and Social Learning tools
- Applying simple, inexpensive and quick implementation of advance e-Learning design
- Presentation of advance e-Learning mini-projects
- Summary and conclusions
Online interaction opportunities and long term online and live references
You will have the ability to interact with facilitators and co-participants by using the Training magazine social learning and collaboration tool. Online and live references of exercises, demos, actual projects will be provided to you before, during and after the session.

This certificate program is for:
- E-Learning developers who have constructed basic programs and are now ready to apply advance techniques and methods.
- Instructional designers who must convert content that requires interactive e-learning design.
- Instructors, online mentors, and coaches who want to participate in helping learners in new immersive learning, social and informal learning modalities.
- Project leaders leading teams and need to introduce new ways of extending the performance of e-learning.
- Managers who must lead and manage design and development of e-learning.

To participate in this program, participants are required to have basic web browsing skills and have some minimal experience in participating in online events. It is recommended participants have attended more than one type of e-Learning program and has been involved actively in the design and implementation of an e-learning program.
How do we define Advanced e-Learning? It is the development of e-Learning Programs that feature highly interactive designs (beyond the page turning approach to learning and performance related training systems), advanced production processes and innovative approaches to using e-Learning systems and software.
For Group participants: If you have more than five or more participants attending the workshop, you have the added benefit of a unique facilitator track. The instructor will spend time addressing your specific goals and preparing in advance activities that will help meet your goals.
If you have little or no e-learning design experience, we recommend you participate in Ray Jimenez’ E-Learning Design Live and Online Certificate Program before enrolling in this advanced certificate.

This course is comprised of six (6) live online sessions. Plus there will be approximately 3 hours of pre-work before the first session. Each session is a combination of presentations by the instructor, previews of demos and examples, individual and group activities and applications, discussions and sharing.
